Runde Auto Group is proud to once again be a major sponsor of Run4Troops! This point-to-point, chip-timed Boston qualifying race runs from Dyersville to Dubuque on the scenic Heritage Trail. I cry and laugh every year, numerous times.” Proceeds are donated to organizations including the Veteran’s Freedom Center, University of Dubuque ROTC, National Guard, University of Dubuque Veterans Center, American Red Cross Readiness Unit, and more. You can participate as an individual marathoner or [...]

Liza Pancho once thought she was getting pulled over by a police officer to be given a ticket. Instead, the officer asked if he could take photos of her car. It’s a vehicle that attracts plenty of attention — a pink 2014 Chevrolet Camaro 2LS Coupe. “He wanted to get a picture because his daughter likes pink cars,” Liza said. Liza purchased the Camaro from Runde Chevrolet in white, and then had it painted with a temporary coating called Plasti Dip. “That’s my favorite color, pink,” she said. When she was considering buying the vehicle, she asked for opinions from her three children and got an enthusiastic response.
The all-new 2016 Camaro has arrived at Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque! Read more about the new design here: http://www.chevrolet.com/2016-camaro/ Stop by and check it out in person!
Runde Chevrolet Buick GMC in Platteville is proud to welcome Tim Vodak to its sales staff! Tim, who was born and raised in Platteville, has a degree in Business Administration in Sales and Marketing. “I wanted to use my sales education and customer service background for a fun job,” Tim said. “I had interest in a variety of cars, for one, and Runde has the best reputation in the area not just for customers, but also for employees.” He is interested in a variety of different vehicles. “I’ve driven everything from a 1984 Ford Bronco, 1999 Chevy S10, to my current car a 2004 Mini Cooper.  Also, I’m a huge fan of car enthusiast shows like Top Gear (BBC version).” He said his favorite vehicle is the Reliant Robin, the three-wheeled car that was formerly [...]
We recently had the honor of having Richard Cottrell of Dubuque, IA stop by the store to share his vehicle buying experience with us. Richard has been a long-time customer of Runde’s and is an absolute blast to chat with. As one of our valued and appreciated customers, we wanted to learn more about Richard and did a short interview with him. Where are you from Richard? I was back and forth between Epworth and Dubuque since I was young. Now I’m 74 and living in Dubuque. I’ll be turning 75 the first of May. How long have you and your wife been together? We just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Remember your first date? Me and a man called Less, and I won’t say his last name, met two girls one day. He married the one he was interested in but ended up getting a divorce. I married mine and have [...]
Thursday was a busy night for us! We proudly gave out t-shirts and other goods at our Best Fest booth for those of you who voted Runde’s the Best Car and Truck Dealer in the Tri-States! Then we went over to the Julien International Film Festival Reveal Party at the Hotel Julien to catch up with all the announcements for the upcoming festival. Both events were fantastic and it was a pleasure to see all the Runde fans! They revealed the honorary chair of the Film Festival as the Little Miss Sunshine star: Abigail Breslin! Check out some of our footage below! [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLUdowenpcg]
I can’t blame anyone for being defensive about car shopping. On one hand you have the typical car salespeople who will manipulate numbers, throw out gimmicks, sell you junk product and outright lie to you. On the  other you have the internet which you had hoped to use as a resource, but you soon find that it’s full of lots of bad information and data. *SIGH*  Now what would it be like to have someone in the industry that’s on YOUR side?!  That’s me! Funny  thing is, I hate car salespeople. Let me explain, I hate the stereotypical image they have, the gimmicks, the one liners, the tactics, the b.s. (and that doesn’t stand for “bad suits” because most car salespeople don’t even wear suits anymore).  I could have been hired anywhere to sell cars and I chose Runde’s for a  reason, because they truly want to sell cars [...]

The adventure that is the 2014 Chicago Auto Show began with the amazement of how many bodies were encompassed within such as large building making the grand McCormick building seem not quite huge enough. The day I went to the show had, by far, the most attendants I have ever seen in all of the years I have been going to the show. I was trying not to get trampled after waiting 25 minutes in line for my $7.00 Carmel Frappe then going back into the fray to get you, our dear readers, some footage!   Check out all the great demos and videos from the Chevy/GMC display below. GM had a great lineup of new and upcoming vehicles such as the 2015 Silverado, Colorado, Suburban, Tahoe, [...]
We love making others happy – it’s part of what drives us to do business and try to help better the community. When a long time customer of Runde’s (Helen Kurth of Coggon, IA) sent us the following letter the other day, it really put into perspective why we try so hard and give everyone that walks through our door the very best service that we can offer. As shown in the letter, Helen is 95 years old and still enjoying everything that life has to offer!  We appreciate the kind words Helen!   She closes out the letter by saying “thank you”, but it is us who should be thanking her because without customers like Helen, we wouldn’t be in business. Below is a printed copy of Helen’s letter: Runde Auto Group. Just a message to thank you for your service to me thru the years. I [...]
Have you ever heard a word that was thrown around quite a bit culturally but you never really understood what it meant? “Twerking” is an example that comes to mind – those not in the “know” are completely guessing what it could mean. Others have been taught, typically though some kind of popular outlet such as the media (Thanks Miley Cyrus!). In the car world “MyLink Radio” is one of those terms that most of you might not know and others have been blessed to discover.  For the former, this blog is for you. MyLink Radio was introduced to the 2012 model year and a vastly superior version continues to enhance Chevy vehicles today. MyLink (AKA Intellilink for GMC or Buick) is a GM “infotainment” system, or an interactive technology that combines radio, media, and phone controls [...]
Those of us in the Tri-States that couldn’t attend the Detroit Auto Show don’t have to feel left out! Here are some of the hot vehicles being shown at the show. 2015 Ford F-150     The wholly different look of the F150 has been getting quite a bit of praise. An even more exciting tidbit was the announcement that the truck will have an aluminum-intensive structure and a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. The use of aluminum cut a massive 700 pounds from the truck’s curb weight! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O65zgOlM4h4   2015 Ford Mustang The new beast will have either a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine or a 3.7-liter V6 that remain as the base engine, while the GT will sport the popular 5.0-liter Coyote V8. The 2.3 is estimated to have 305 [...]
Domination – n. “supremacy or preeminence over another”. Sounds about right when it comes to the best car and truck on the market. When you have a manufacturer that is voted to not only have the best car, but also the best truck awards, with a market flooded with different vehicles, you know they are doing something (everything) right. The champs of the Detroit Auto Show’s annual announcement of the Car & Truck of the Year awards are none other than the 2014 Chevy Silverado and the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The Corvette last reached this achievement in 1998 and is now in it’s 7th generation, the Silverado was last picked as Truck of the Year in 2007. “Chevrolet is in the midst of the most aggressive product transformation in the brand’s more than 100-year history,” said Alan [...]
Robert Hoefer came to Runde’s to get a truck that he could use on his farm in Elgin, Nebraska. He made the trek and left here as happy as could be. We got a chance to catch up with Robert today and he shared some great news about himself and his experience at Runde’s! Where are you from? Elgin, Nebraska. How far away is that from Runde’s? 388 miles, it was quite a trip! How was the trip? It is a pretty easy drive. We got past Waterloo and it just transformed into a snowy landscape. We also got to saw the two meteorites that they were talking about on the news. We saw one in Waterloo and one in Dubuque. It was strange because it was clear outside but it looked like there was lightning.
It’s that time again folks. Like it or not, it’s colder, slicker and more dangerous on the road than any other season. It can be a pretty scary situation driving anywhere in the Tri-States after a hefty snowfall. I know just a few weeks ago I was inching up the minor hill from our Chevy store to our PreDriven store and I didn’t think I was going to make it. Which leads me to my first piece of advise to achieve a worry-free winter driving experience – be prepared. I didn’t have good tires at the time (bald would have been a complement), and that is my fault for waiting, thinking I had time as the roads were pretty clear prior to the downpour of snow. But weather is unpredictable and we all have to [...]
Dawn Hettinger came into Runde’s with little to no expectations. After her experience with her salesman, Sean Dailey, and seeing how Runde operates, she left with her new vehicle as happy as could be! Where are you from? Well that’s kind of hard to answer because I’m from all over the place! I was raised here then there kind of a thing, but I was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  What made you choose Runde’s? What led you to us opposed to other dealers? I needed a car and I did a Google search for the car I was interested in and found Runde’s. You guys ended up having the best price at the best mileage. Being a little bit on the honest side here: I was raised as a Chevy person; my fiancé [Nick Runde] loves Ford and his last name [...]

Aaron Young, who works in the sales department at our Jeep store in Manchester, IA recently put together an honest review (see below) of the all new Jeep Cherokee.  There were quite a few Jeep fans out there who were excited about Chrysler bringing back the Cherokee name plate, but when the new version of this American icon was revealed, it shocked and surprised many folks (Aaron included).  Aaron’s initial view of the vehicle was sheer disgust and I would guess that he wasn’t alone in his thinking.  Eventually though, his opinion began to evolve to the point where he was actually able to experience the 2014 Cherokee first hand and discover it has a multitude of positive attributes. By Aaron Young 11-15-13:   Well it’s here, the all new 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Honestly when I saw the first photo of one I threw up a little in my mouth. I cringed at reading it will have IFS all the way around, a 4 cylinder comes [...]
