Please join us in welcoming Shawn Cooper to the sales staff of Runde Chevrolet Buick GMC in Platteville! Shawn, who is from Newport News, Virginia, spent eight years in the United States Navy as an airplane mechanic. He has been working in the automotive industry ever since. He loves the opportunity to meet new people each day and build relationships with customers. “I believe educating people on car buying is one of the most important aspects of the job,” he says. “I’m not here to just sell a car, I want customers to understand what they are buying and the value of the dealership.” When he isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his five sons, bowling, watching movies (especially Marvel), and hiking. He also is fascinated by military history. “I love military aviation,” he [...]
This is the first of a series featuring staff members from the four Runde Auto Group dealerships. We hope you enjoy learning more about them!   Some people collect photographs to remember specific moments in their lives. Nate Elder, reconditioning manager at Runde PreDriven, collects shoes. He has about 25 boxes of unopened shoes in his closet at home right now – some have been there for years. “Each one has a story and a memory attached to it,” Nate said. “I have a pair that I bought in 2003, that’s one of my older pairs.” He recently opened a pair of DC Pure XEs because he had worn out the DC Mikey Moes he had been wearing. Working in the PreDriven washrack area [...]
Please join us in welcoming Brian Oswald to the sales team at Runde Chevrolet Buick GMC in Platteville! Brian moved to Platteville from Cuba City a year ago. He previously worked in the mortgage industry. “I have always wanted to sell cars and trucks,” he said. “You get to meet a lot of people and I have always heard Runde’s has a great reputation.” He is excited to sell from Runde Auto Group’s inventory of more than 1,650 vehicles. “I have always tried to make sure the customer has a positive experience and I pride myself on delivering great customer service, which means helping people meet their needs in a way that is efficient, pleasant, and informative,” he said. In his spare time, Brian enjoys coaching basketball, playing tennis, watching all sports, traveling and reading. His favorite [...]
Wes is relatively new to Runde’s but has been a great addition to the team. We decided to get the inside scoop on him and his interests through an interview! Are you originally from the Dubuque area? I am from Cuba City, Wisconsin. I was just looking for a different job opportunity. I got a better opportunity here than where I was working. How long have you worked for Runde Chevrolet and what do you do here over the course of a normal day? Over the course of a normal day, I schedule work and order parts for mechanics. I also schedule appointments for customers and deal with extended warranty companies and try to sell service, obviously, being a service writer. I basically just try to keep the customer happy and coming back. What’s the best part about your job? Helping people is [...]
Debbie Stratton is a hard worker, a kind spirit and a wonderful customer of ours. She was in to pick up her Ford Escape and had a few minutes to spare to do a quick interview. If you see her at the Grand Harbor on the weekends be sure to say “hi”! What brought you into Runde’s Today? An SUV.  I’ve been really wanting an SUV. And what did you end up getting? A Ford Escape. I’m looking forward to it for the winter and whatnot. And everyone has one now, I thought it was about time to get with it. How did you find Runde’s? I actually bought a car from Al before, so I knew where to go when I wanted to get my SUV.  He was on the [...]
To me, a “hero” is someone that inspires or delivers change for the better. Having the luxury of waking up to an alarm clock instead of sirens or gunshots is a privilege that most of us probably take for granted. We are lucky to live in such a state where our biggest worry of the day is when you think a cop might have caught you accidentally changing lanes without signaling. Many have sacrificed for us to get to where we are today and should be recognized and thanked properly. Memorial Day is one of those special days when we are able to recognize the heroes that have worked so hard to defend what we have today. One the people in the fight for a better tomorrow is Runde’s very own Jason Keane. Jason has been involved with the National Guard for 14 years and is preparing for his third deployment in the near future. [...]
