Leo and Rosie Heid live out just west of Dyersville.  These high school sweethearts have conquered the test of time with their love for for eachother for more than 45 years.  Read on to learn more about the Heid’s, how they stumbled upon us, and how their experience with Runde’s went. What brought you into Runde’s Today? We were looking for a different vehicle and we saw the Runde’s ad in the paper. We sold our Impala to one of our kids and needed to get something to replace it so we picked this up. I prefer something like an Equinox or an SUV that’s a bit easier to get in, but she likes this Malibu. She’ll be driving it mostly, anyway. So it’s your car, then? *Laughs* I guess. Any specific need for [...]
TESTIMONIALS FROM RUNDE’S CUSTOMERS We are very very pleased with our 2009 Traverse. It is by far one of the most comfortable vehicles I have ever driven. We have been on 3 road trips and love how it handles the road!! Sure hope this Traverse lasts us a long time! We love it!!!! Thank you for making it possible when we came to see you!! I also want you to know how impressed we are with Runde’s! Awesome people and awesome service! Keep it up! Take care! Paul and Ellen S. of Dubuque, IA We still have the Jeep Commander and all is well with it. Best vehicle and experience we’ve ever had. I have extended numerous compliments to Runde for Dave [...]
Ed Whitacre, the CEO of General Motors, annouced that GM has paid back all of the borrowed money in full to the government with interest. This gigantic announcement demonstrates a level of confidence within the company that has surfaced mainly due to a slimmed down product line, a more refined company focus, and exciting new products like the Chevy Equinox, the Chevy Camaro, and the Buick LaCrosse that are selling almost as quickly as they arrive on dealers’ lots. With this move, they are basically saying that they wholeheartedly believe GM is now on the right track to profitibility. And here at Runde Chevrolet and Runde Buick, we know without-a-doubt that GM is back on track and ready for the road ahead. The tank is full, the engine is hummin’, and the GPS is set … Destination … Success. Full speed ahead. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-XrbVFG7o0&hl=en_US&fs=1&]
Duane and Karen Altfillisch from Elizabeth, IL stopped in to purchase some more vehicles from their favorite dealer – Runde Auto Group this week. These long-time Runde’s fans granted us the time to let us interview them before going off to get some good vittles. What brought you to Runde’s? We’ve been coming here for years. I’m assuming that since you came back you “like our attitude” Oh hahaha, yes, absolutely. How many vehicles would you say you bought from us? Probably around twenty. 20? Wow, Holy cow! Yep, we’ve been buying since 1987. I heard that you had some work being done to your vehicle? Yea, they are putting on running boards and chrome handles on the truck. So for this recent purchase did you research online or did you just [...]
John Riley, who manages our Chevy Sales Department, received the following email message from one of his customers this week.  Hi John: Here’s a few photos for your scrap book. Thanks for all your help with Kathie’s Chrismas Surprise. She had no idea I had made a deal with you for a new vehicle. There was a lot of excitement at the Thor household Christmas morning. Thanks again, Randy Randy Thor of Cuba City, WI surprised his better half, Kathie, with a sophistocated new set of wheels.  He grabbed some quick photos of Kathie beside her new ride (my guess is that he didn’t have to ask her to smile).  Kathie was completely caught off guard by the 2010 Chevy Equinox that was waiting for her at home and the Thor’s had a very Merry X-Mas.      If you have an interest in [...]
Mike Lawler worked for Runde’s full-time while he went to high school.  After graduating, Mike went off to college, but he still comes back to work here when he comes back home.  While Mike was here for the Thanksgiving weekend, we took a few minutes to chat with him and find out what college life is like. RAC: Where are you going to college? ML: Western Illinois University — It’s about two and a half hours away. RAC: And do you have your own car? ML: Yeah, a 2000 Cavalier Z24. RAC: Nice.  Aluminum wheels?  Air Conditioning?  Cruise Control? ML: Yes sir. RAC: Prodigious!  Do you like college so far? You’re going to the school in Macomb, IL right? ML: Yeah the school’s nice.  Macomb’s a smaller town – I think it’s about 20,000 people.   RAC: Runde’s sells a lot of vehicles to people from Macomb.  Do you see any cars that you maybe got [...]
The all new Equinox’s have landed here at Runde’s and they’ve received nothing but great reviews so far. With room to spare, power to go, great gas mileage, and a sleek and appealing design … the all new Equinox is the vehicle to have whether you have a family or just desire a nice ride that will hold a lot of stuff. It will easily store your strollers, bikes and coolers full of food for your trip out to Noah’s Ark this summer. Check out the walkaround below to get up close and personal with the Equinox: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4myXMNj3WBc] If you want more information about how the Equinox can help you and your family get the most out of a vehicle this summer, give us a call at 866-735-5200 and we will be more than happy to answer any and all questions you may have.
Ever wish someone would walk up to you and hand you the keys to a new vehicle? The closest I’ve ever come to hearing about something like this, I previously mentioned when I wrote the annecdote about Doug in our Field of Dreams blog post last year. There’s also that scene from Pay it Forward, where some guy hands Jay Mohr the keys to his new Jaguar S-Type car in an effort to … you guessed it … pay it forward. I was looking at GM’s Project Driveway a little today and I checked it out to see if I might qualify to drive a new state-of-the-art Chevy Equinox fuel cell vehicle. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaZtM2rCozY&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0] Project Driveway is the first large-scale market test of fuel cell vehicles with real drivers in the real world. Because hydrogen fuel cells use zero gasoline and produce zero emissions other than water vapor, they’re definitely much better for our environment in the long run. [...]
Recently I had a chance to have a nice chat with Sondra Kulper of Colesburg, IA to get to know her. Sondra is one of the newest additions to the Runde extended family, but she is already walkin’ and talkin’ like the rest of us. What do you do here? I am the warranty administrator. How do you like it so far? Well, I previously did this for 11 years so I’m kind of used to it — so far so good. How long have you worked here? About three months, I started in April. Compared to other jobs, how have you liked the first couple of months? Well the system takes a little getting used to, but it has been really great. Out of your short time here, what has been your best [...]
Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque recently had the opportunity to make a road trip to the Chicago Auto Show. We managed to pull up our jaws and glance at our cameras every once in awhile to snap some photos for you. We hope you enjoy viewing a few of the amazing vehicles that were there! Chevy ran an impressive show with an array of cars including the all- electrical Volt (left) and the new Equinox (right) [...]
GM implemented their “Project Driveway” program a few years ago. The test-drive program allows GM to partner with consumers or companies who agree to driving GM’s fuel cell vehicles in a “lab rat” type of situation. Yesterday, GM announced a newest member of the program, the world’s first and largest market test of fuel cell vehicles. Chevrolet and the United States Postal Service have teamed up for a trial-run of Hydrogen-powered fuel cell Chevy Equinoxes. Two of the USPS locations will be using them. Irvine, CA is the only one released so far, with a second releasing soon. The Equinox fuel cell car will be used 6 days a week on regular delivery routes. This is not the first time the Postal Service has joined forces with GM. In 2004, they tried out a HydroGen3 fuel cell vehicle in the Northern Virgina area, with Irvine, California copying them in 2006. Both of these programs ended in [...]
I’m sure you all have seen an Equinox while you were out and about getting groceries or going to the bank, and wondered…”Ooh, I like that! What is it?!” Chevrolet introduced it in 2005, and it is one of the most popular SUVs on the market. I took one for a spin the other day and did the walk-around video. It rides so smooth! I loved all the extra options it offered, and the price didn’t reflect all of the extra stuff it had. XM, OnStar, All-Wheel Drive, and Power moonroof makes this vehicle even hotter to drive down the highway. Check out my Equinox video, and give Runde’s a call to take a test drive!
