New Chevrolet Equinox owner Brian H.
Brian Hansen, better known as “Chopper,” was all smiles today when he left Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque! He scored a great deal on a 2017 Chevy Equinox Premier AWD from salesperson Corissa Frederick. Plus, he was Corissa’s first sale! “She was a great gal to work with,” Brian said. “Corissa’s the bomb.” Brian, who lives in East Dubuque, called a few days ago to inquire about how spacious the Equinox was. “I’ve always driven Chevys,” he said. “I like dealing with Runde’s and I heard good things about the Equinox. I liked that it had a six-cylinder and I love the interior.” When he isn’t in his daily driver, Brian loves riding his motorcycle, a 2017 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Special. He works at the Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department as [...]

So far, they have completed “getting to know you” activities, started their Summer Adventure Journals, created bracelets, participated in a math scavenger hunt, read books, and performed shows. “Every day before we start camp and before we leave, we find ‘hidden numbers’ using a laser thermometer,” said Kristi Alvarado, one of three [...]

Rob Biggin remembers when he got his first vehicle – a Chevrolet Beretta from Runde PreDriven – in the early 1990s. He has since purchased more than 10 vehicles from Runde Auto Group, and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. “I’ve always enjoyed buying them from Runde’s,” he said. Rob picked up his latest vehicle, a white 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 4WD Crew Cab, today at Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque, IL. It is his third Silverado. “I just like trucks,” he said. “I like driving up higher and it’s nice to have four-wheel drive and as a homeowner, to have a box to haul things or to help friends.” Rob lives in Dubuque and is a big fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. His salesperson is Tim Runde. “He has always [...]
Ken Dunkel picked up a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 4WD LTZ Crew Cab from Runde Auto Group today. The Dyersville, IA resident is no stranger to Chevy trucks. “I’ve had 10 Silverado trucks and I’ve always had light grey,” he said. “Once I went to dark grey and I’m back to light grey. It’s just a preference.” He will use the vehicle for farming. Ken is a return customer to Runde Auto Group. His salesperson was Shannon Mulrooney at Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque, IL. “He was wonderful,” Ken said. “He’s outstanding and kept me informed.”
Carole Dodson has already made her new 2015 Chevrolet Equinox AWD LTZ her own. She installed a ladybug flower design license plate frame before it even left the Runde Auto Group lot this morning. It’s a touch she has added to her vehicles for years, “They don’t make them anymore, and I really like it,” she said. This was the first vehicle Carole and her husband Herman, of Darlington, Wis., have purchased from Runde’s. “We had an Equinox, but it was white,” Carole said. “It’s a good ride and we like the looks.” She plans to take good care of the Crystal Red SUV. “If it’s crappy weather, this doesn’t come outside,” she said. “I even called to say ‘don’t deliver it if it’s raining.’” Their salesman was Jake [...]
Bill and Joslyn Seefeldt, of the town of Milton, WI, drove a couple hours for Runde Auto Group’s dedication to customer satisfaction. “We contacted several dealers in our neighborhood and they said it would be too hard to get the car or it wouldn’t be efficient for them to get the exchange,” Bill said. The couple got what they wanted at Runde’s: a black 2014 Chevrolet Sonic LT, with a turbocharged engine. The hatchback vehicle will be used as a work car for Joslyn, who is a farrier (which is a specialist in equine hoof care, including the trimming and balancing of horses’ hooves and the placing of shoes on their hooves). “I wanted something that was very fuel efficient because it will be a [...]
Runde Chevrolet got a blast from the past when Bob Kinsella pulled into the lot in his 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396. The vehicle, with its frost green exterior and dark green vinyl top and interior, was purchased from Paul Runde at Runde Chevrolet back in 1968. The cost for the special order at the time was just $4,165.90. Its original receipt itemizes features the vehicle included, like a clock for $15, the vinyl top for $89, the rear window defroster for $22 and bucket seats for $121. The 375 horsepower 396 engine, which still has its roar, cost just $252.80. The car is a bit of a boomerang [...]

Needless to say that this new design for the 2013 Fusion has been very well received at the Chicago Auto Show this week and people’s comments have been very favorable toward it.  The video below was shot by Runde Auto Group  — The noise in the background of the vid was coming from the new Shelby Mustang presentation across the room and we’ll post the video of that soon.  People were definitely all a-buzz about the Shelby.  But this new Fusion is definitely gorgeous. The new design is only about 1 inch longer and 1/2 inch wider than the previous Fusion, but it looks a lot longer than its predecessor mainly due to an extended wheelbase that’s almost 5 inches longer than the 2012 version.  A new inline 4-cylinder 1.6 Liter EcoBoost engine will be available on the all-new Fusion.  And this optional turbo engine will produce 179 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque and is [...]
The Chevy Camaro has been turning heads since it was first released, but now there’s an eye-catching new option. Thanks to a very creative exterior vinyl wrap, an innovative Czech Republic company has sucessfully turned one of America’s most popular modern muscle cars into an elegant, awesome, artistic spectacle. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYbBaKD0nLc] Though we may not have any chrome Camaro’s, you can still check out our great inventory at www.RundeAutoGroup.com.
Go to the Graffiti Nights Car Show next Thursday and you will see people who share a passion for the classics  glowing and having a great time as they share stories and chit chat with fellow enthusiasts. The show started back in the early 1980’s by a man named Gary Duster of Dubuque, IA.   Gary is a classics fan who wanted to share his love of the classics with the Tri-State community. As of late, the show has moved to East Dubuque, IL where it seems to have found a perfect home. We got a hold of George Young, former owner of George & Dales restaurant and current Mayor of East Dubuque. With the help of his son and the support of the community, George gets things in order for the show to run weekly in East Dubuque.  He’s very enthusiastic [...]
The new 2011 Camaro Convertible arrived at Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque today and Mike Lawler in our Detail Department was kind enough to take some snap shots of the car for us.  What do you think???  Could you picture yourself flying down the highway in this black beauty?   For some of us (namely me), owning this car is just a fantasy.  But if you are in the driver’s seat of your dreams, please stop by our Chevrolet store on Hwy 35 to check out the car for yourself … and CLICK  HERE for more info about this Camaro Convertible.
Troy and April Hutson drove a long way this past week to come and buy their new truck from Runde Chevrolet.  In the time between signing paperwork and starting out for home, they were benevolent enough to give us a little extra time to ask them some questions about their lives and about their recent experience at Runde’s. What kind of vehicle did you buy?  We bought a new 2011 Silverado 2500 HD. You’re from Sandwich, IL – how far is that from Runde’s?   It’s about 180 miles and it took us almost three hours to get here. Have you always lived in that area? Troy:  I have.  I was born in Sandwich and pretty much lived there my whole life. April: I wasn’t born in Sandwich, but I’ve lived in that area most of my life.      What is Sandwich or that area of Illinois famous for or best know for? The [...]

What did the mama turkey say to her naughty son???   If your papa could see you now, he’d turn over in his gravy!
One of our relatively recent additions to the Runde team is Mariah Diedrich. We just about caused mass mayhem by dragging her away from her phone, but Mariah gladly took a few moments to allow us to get to know her a little better. How long have you worked for Runde’s and what  do you do here? Um, it’ll be going on a year.  I can’t remember if I was hired in August or September.  I work in the accounting department and do accounts payable. What’s the best thing about your job? The people I work with.  Except for Becky.   We understand.  What is the worst thing about your job? Being interviewed by those annoying blog people.  Just kidding … I’d probably have to say Becky. Do you have a favorite spot in the Tri-State area? I live in Shullsburg about 40 minutes away in Wisconsin, so it’s like [...]
If you follow Runde Auto Chat, you may recall a story that we ran back in the spring of this year about Mardy Gilyard, who purchased a new 2010 Camaro SS from Runde’s.  At that time, he had finished up at the University of Cincinnati, where he starred as a wide receiver and kick returner.  He was on his way to the NFL Draft Combine where he would show NFL scouts just what he was made of.   Everyone in Cincinnati and his home state of Florida already knew that Mardy was a world-class athlete and at the NFL Combine (an invite-only event) back in February, he put his talent on display for the rest of the world to see.     The St. Louis Rams took particular notice of him and, after they failed to shock the world by taking Sam Bradford [...]
The Cruze is coming very soon and everyone (customers and employees alike) are chomping at the bit to see first hand GM’s newest jewel of the streets. But why would GM need to hire aerospace engineers to help with the car’s design? Watch and learn just how the new 2011 Cruze takes in a breath. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8No9bXWvxQ]
No one has hit for a .400 batting average in the Major Leagues since Ted Williams last did it in 1941.  In the 69 years since that time, George Brett probably came the closest to hitting .400 over the course of a whole season when he averaged .390 back in 1980.  Heck, it seems like the only thing more out of reach in baseball than hitting .400 would be the Cubs getting to or winning the World Series.  (That is unless Ryne Sandberg comes back as a player/manager and then I’d have to say that the World Series would be a sure thing for the Cubbies). If  achieving a .400 batting average seems extremely improbable, then would would .500 be.  And what does all this have to do with Runde’s?  Well, one of our summer workers, Jenna Schneider, of East Dubuque came back to work for Runde’s for the summer.  She attends Southern Illinois University and she worked for Runde’s [...]
Today we had the pleasure of getting to know a family who recently bought a Chrysler Town & Country van from us. Sharon, Darlene, Alex, Emily and Gavin took a few moments to share their experience with us.  We give you … the Riesselman Family. How did you find Runde Auto Group and this particular vehicle? We found you guys on the internet. Your website was very easy to navigate and we easily found what we wanted. I really like how you can narrow by the year, model and mileage, it makes it really easy to find what you are looking for. Where is the first place you’ll take your new Town & Country van? Darlene: Home to see if it will fit in the garage! Sharon: Yeah. Why did you decide to purchase it [...]
We sat down this morning and had a quick chat with the highly energetic and ever-ambitious Brandon Hanger. Brandon has been working nights at Runde’s for the past four years. We were so impressed with his professional drive that we immediately added him to our sales staff. He wound up selling four new cars today and he’s already decided to put the commission money away for his retirement. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-YpT6KNq18&hl=en_US&fs=1]
