Hold on to your seats: Dodge has revealed what it says is the fastest production car in the world, the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon. This street-legal muscle car has 808 horsepower (!!!!) and 717 lb-ft of torque on 91 octane gas. The track version has 840 hp and 770 lb-ft of torque on 100-plus high-octane race fuel. It gets from 0 to 60 mph in 2.3 seconds, thanks to its supercharged 6.2L HEMI Demon V8 engine. To get from 0 to 30 mph, it takes 1 second. The vehicle has enough power that it can do a wheelie when it takes off. The Guinness World Records certified it as the first front-wheel lift [...]
Hi, this is Aaron Young from Runde Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Manchester and I wanted to tell you about this one-time event as we finish 2014. Imagine this: It’s bitterly cold and the subzero wind is whipping at the windows. Instead of having to battle the winter weather, you simply press a button to start your car from the comfort of your home. When you get in your car, the leather seats and steering wheel are warm and toasty. With the brilliant HID lighting and built-in navigation, you easily find your way to your next destination while a concert of music surrounds you from the 9-speaker Alpine stereo. A call comes in and you answer it without removing your hands from the heated leather wrapped steering wheel. It sounds like luxury, and it is in the top of [...]
Thanks to Tim and Diane Johnson from Fairbank, IA for purchasing their new Dodge Ram truck from our Dodge store in Manchester. (pictured here with their salesman, Randy Sacora)
What did the mama turkey say to her naughty son???   If your papa could see you now, he’d turn over in his gravy!
Sean Dailey is one of Runde’s newest employees. Over the past few weeks he has been very busy meeting all of the friendly faces at our Ford-Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep store and helping the great people of, and around, Manchester with their vehicle needs. In the midst of his busy schedule we were able to sneak in a few questions to get to know him bit better. So Sean, what exactly do you do here at Runde’s? I am a general sales associate, I sell cars. How long have you been doing that? Two and a half weeks so far. Are you originally from the Manchester area? No, I was actually born in San Francisco. I joined the military and after moving around for a while, I settled here in Iowa about 19 years ago. Why Iowa? [...]
In the car business you often get a mixture of old school thought vs. new school.   Yesterday, this really seemed really apparent when we asked one of our senior salesmen to help provide us with a customer of his that we could interview for the blog.  His response was: “No.  Actually, I can’t wait ’til that thing (the blog) goes away.”  In the past couple years, social media has become what it is and at Runde’s we have tried to embrace it for the positive.  We run a good business and word of mouth has always been one of the cheapest and best forms of advertising.  So we figure, we’ll interview customers and ask them what they thought of their experience at Runde’s.  It’s been good for Runde Auto Group and we get to discover a little more about our customers — facets of their lives that may not have normally come to the surface during a normal [...]

No one likes to fill up with gas often. Taking huge beasts or power house vehicles on the road that get 12-16MPG can be a downer. Well, future owners of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro have one thing less to worry about as official reports from the EPA rate the Camaro at 18 City/29 Hwy MPG. Below is a fuel economy comparison chart of other muscle cars out there:     2010 Chevy Camaro 2010 Ford Mustang 2010 Dodge Challenger V6        18 city/29 hwy 16 city/24 hwy 17 city/25 hwy V8        16 city/25 hwy 17 city/23 hwy 13 city/19 hwy Add great fuel economy to an estimated 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds and you have a car that is not only fast and powerful but an all-in-one package. For more information about the Camaro or how to order one, call toll free (800) 947-8633 and we would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque recently had the opportunity to make a road trip to the Chicago Auto Show. We managed to pull up our jaws and glance at our cameras every once in awhile to snap some photos for you. We hope you enjoy viewing a few of the amazing vehicles that were there! Chevy ran an impressive show with an array of cars including the all- electrical Volt (left) and the new Equinox (right) [...]
Sparked with jealousy and envy I write this post. Filled to the brim in all things cool – movie and television characters have it all… including cars I and, apparently, my fellow co-workers want to have. We love seeing our favorite characters cruise, leap, fly, chase and swim with their outrageously sweet rides. Here’s a list of the top 5 cars from movies and television we appreciate the most. #5. 1969 Dodge Charger “General Lee” from The Dukes of Hazzard  #4. 1970s Camaro, rebuilt as a 2008/2009 Camaro prototype in the 2007 movie Transformers #3. 1977 Firebird Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit #2. 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am “KITT” from Knight Rider #1. 67’ Shelby GT 500 Mustang “Eleanor” from Gone in 60 Seconds   Horable mentions: The Mystery Machine Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Batmobile Herbie
American auto manufacturers have been thrown under the bus quite frequently over the last few months by members of the media and by members of Congress.  However, Runde Auto Group urges you to seek out factual information about the American auto makers before casting judgment.  Please take a few minutes to look over this brief quiz to see how much you’re actually aware of! This trip may not be as entertaining as Chevy Chase’s European Vacation, but it’s still a pretty cool story! [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-W50U2RP6g] A few guys from Motor Trend Magazine took the new Dodge Challenger SRT-8 on a 3,000 mile trip across Europe. They started in England, meandered around Europe, and wound up back in England 10 days later.     Along the way, they stopped in Brookland to see the 1st race track that was constructed in 1907, they crossed the English Channel and went to Paris. They got the car up to 140 mph on Champs Elysees roadway in town. The Parisians were very accepting of them and the car, giving them thumbs up and cheering. They drove through old World War I battlefields of Verdan & Argonne on their way to Germany. They drove about 138 mph on [...]

This morning’s Today Show showcased the upcoming 2011 Chevrolet Volt and 2011 Dodge EV Electric Cars. They should be available sometime in 2010. Both will be in the $40,000 range, and can go 40 miles on electricity alone. That evens out to about 2 cents per mile. Most Americans don’t drive 40 miles a day if they live in a city and drive to work and home. Even if they have to pick up the kids from soccer practice and piano lessons, they should be under the 40 mile mark. But if they do have to travel farther, when using both gas and electricity, these cars can travel at least 300 miles without a recharge. The Volt will plug into a regular home electrical socket, and has the capacity to be fully charged in between four and eight hours. Although, it will depend on how many miles between charges. The EV is a 268 horsepower sports car that [...]
Our Runde Ford-Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep store has new 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 pickups coming in, and we have 3 so far. The new Ram has more options available, such as uConnect and Rear Back Up Assistance. uConnect is a hands-free calling system which allows you to use Bluetooth with cell phones. You can also get uConnect Web, which allows you to set up a wifi connection in your vehicle. It is compliant with any operating system, whether it be Windows or Mac OS, and will connect to laptops, iPods, or any other wifi devices. The Dodge Back Up Assistance has a touch screen stereo that shows everything in your viewing area behind you. It also helps to see how close you are to the vehicles parked directly behind you in a parking lot.  All three of the Ram 1500’s we have are powered by the 5.7-liter Hemi V8! They each have different installed options, but I’m sure [...]
There are many sports cars on the market, but according to MSN Auto, the top 3 researched are 1) Chevrolet Corvette, 2) Ford Mustang, and 3) Dodge Challenger. We have a good selection of Corvettes and Mustangs available at our East Dubuque Chevrolet and Manchester Ford-Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep stores. Challengers are available by order, and we also have a few arriving soon!  The 2009 Corvette moves into uncharted territory for GM; the new ZR1 comes on the scene with a 638-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 and a 6 speed manual transmission. What capabilities does this add to the ‘Vette? 205 MPH. The standard Corvette has a 430-horsepower V8 and still manages to get 26 mpg on the highway and 16 mpg in the city. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the Mustang in it’s 2009 model year. It is one of the most popular cars in the Ford lineup, and is also one of the last affordable American-made sports cars. The GT [...]
Runde Ford-Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep has been graced with the presence of the TorRed 2009 Dodge Charger SXT. It’s found a new home in the showroom until someone takes it home with them. Wow, is that a great view?! It has a 3.5-Liter V6 engine and 4-speed automatic transmission, All-Speed Traction Control, and 17″ Aluminum wheels. It also has an 8-way power driver’s seat, AM/FM/CD/MP3/Satellite Radio, power adjustable pedals, power heated mirrors, power windows, and keyless entry, not to mention the other standard features that come on it.   It is a great looking ride!…And rides well too. “This is the 8th new car that I have bought from Runde Chevrolet. Well satisfied with all of them. Good Service department also.” John Altfillisch-Galena, IL“Tim Runde is the best salesperson I have ever delt with. When he gives you a price it is where he wants to be. He doesn’t waste your time wheeling & dealing for hours.” Michael Wilkinson-Lewistown, IL “Just a very nice place to do my business. Makes buying a vehicle a nice experience.” Ray Merfeld-East Dubuque, IL
Runde of Manchester received its first 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 earlier this week. It was ordered through our Manchester location, and was already spoken for when it got here. It only spent a couple hours with us before the rightful owner came to pick it up, but it was here long enough to leave a lasting impression and it certainly drew a crowd of admirers!!
The retro look is now back in full force as Dodge will soon unleash the Challenger SRT8. The new Challenger will compete head-to-head with the Ford Mustang in the retail muscle car market. And not too far off in the future, Chevy will release their all-new Camaro that will hint back to the ’69 Camaro of yesteryear. Dodge representatives have not yet announced final pricing for the more-affordable SE and R/T models, but they have said it will be priced to take on the Mustang, which starts at $20,000. This is good news for those who like the look of the car, but aren’t willing or able to shell out the beaucoup bucks that the SRT8 will undoubteldy command. Please feel free to call to the Runde Dodge Store in Manchester at 888-927-2630 for more information about the availability of the all-new Challenger. Dodge has already sold more [...]
