How Much Do You Pay for Gas for your Chevy in Dubuque?

Dubuque area Chevrolet Dealer asks the Community their thoughts on local gas prices
Chevrolet customers in Dubuque, this article will provide you with some good news. In case you haven’t gotten out of the house yet this year, I’ll point out quickly that gas prices were on a relative free fall during the second half of the year and have recently landed at a cost per gallon that is somewhat comfortable for most folks in the midwest. One Runde Auto Group customer commented, “It’s nice not having to drain my wallet each week at the gas pump”. If you’re one of those whose daily work commute is relatively short, then it’s possible you’ve never really broken too much of a sweat over gas prices. Nonetheless, everyone loves to rant when gas prices are on the rise so whether we admit it or not, everyone cares about the price of fuel in Iowa. Recently a co-worker recently pointed out to me to this website that shows Chevrolet drivers in

Indy fans get ready because the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has been selected as the official pace car for this year’s Indianapolis 500. This will mark the 12th time the Corvette model has served as pace car for the grand-daddy of all races … and how appropriate since the Corvette is essentially a race car that’s designed for urban streets.  The exterior color for the pace car will be Laguna Blue Tintcoat and there will be no exterior mods to the car. Jim Campbell, GM’s VP of performance vehicles had this to say about the selection, “It is an honor to help inaugurate the all-new Corvette Stingray at the hallowed Brickyard and further the legacy between Chevrolet and the Indianapolis 500. The 2014 Corvette Stingray’s performance was influenced by racing, making this prestigious assignment even more fitting.” We’ll all anticipate this years race and the cameo appearance [...]

If you noticed fireworks lighting up the western skies this past Friday, what you were probably witnessing was part of the festivities for the Annual Peosta Parade and Fun Day.   The sixth annual Peosta Days event was held in conjunction with the Annual Fireman’s Auction and the extravaganza promised something for kids of all ages. Friday’s events included the brilliant fireworks, skydivers, good food & drinks and live music featuring the band Hard Salami. On Saturday, the Peosta Days Parade took place and Doug Weig and his wife Angela were able to get some great shots of the Runde Chevrolet truck they drove in the parade.  It started at Mi-T-M and it ended up at the Peosta Rec Center. Doug said that it was a good time for everyone.   But the most intriguing event was one that I had never heard of … Cow Pie Bingo.  Doug said that he wanted to play, but it [...]
Runde’s was recently honored to have San Francisco 49ers draft pick, Darius Fleming, come in to Runde Chevrolet to pick up a smoking hot Black Camaro coupe!  Darius played for Notre Dame as an outside linebacker and is training for the 49ers currently. He found time to come from his training camp in Lake Forest, IL to pick up his Camaro from our salesman, Mark Fleege. Darius was gracious enough to let us interview him. You might be surprised by some of his unique talents and what he has in common with the movie “Rudy”! Are you originally from the area? No, I’m from the south side of Chicago.  I grew up in the Beverly area, right off of Western Ave. around 119th. Did you have a nickname growing up? My nickname was Baby-D, because I was named after my uncle.   Since his name was Darius as well, they called me Baby-D so when somebody would say “Darius” it [...]
Amanda Elston loves to help animals. As a mobile veterinarian she needs a reliable truck to hold all of her medicine and equipment. Despite a two hour trip to get to here, Amanda knew that she would find what she was looking for at Runde’s. And we asked her to reflect on her pleasant experience. Where are you from? I’m from Ossian, Ia, It’s just South of Decorah, IA. It’s about a three hour drive. My boss and I made the trip. What led you to Runde’s? I’m a veterinarian and I needed a truck for work. I needed a 3/4 ton regular cab, long box truck which was actually really hard to find, but you guys had four or five of them here. Runde’s had the a great selection and options we were looking for so we decided to make the long trip to go here [...]

I was reading an article from CNNMoney that was saying the new Chevy Volt didn’t rank as one of the top ten “greenest” cars in America.  Now based on all that I have learned about the Volt so far, I found this very hard to believe.  The Volt is primarily an electric car that can travel for about 40 miles on just the power produced from the lithium ion battery pack following a 10 hour overnight charge from a regular 110V outlet (or 4 hours from an installed Voltec 240V charger). I just don’t understand why the CNNMoney article and other articles are disrespecting the Volt.  I live about 6-7 miles from work and if I had a Volt, I could drop off my kids at school and daycare and then head to work each day.  My [...]
Over the past few years, the EPA has made changes to the way they test the fuel efficiency of vehicles.  They’ve tried to make their testing more accurate by putting the cars and trucks on “real world” road ways instead of the traditional track testing that they used to do.  Here at Runde’s, our sales associates field questions daily from customers who want to know what type of mileage our vehicles get.   To be completely honest, it always comes down to what type of driving the customer does, where they live, and how heavy their foot is.    A customer in the Bloomington-Normal flatlands will undoubtedly get different mileage compared to a customer driving the same car daily through  Dubuqueland’s Mississippi Mountains.   A 16 year old who occasionally uses his 40 year old dad’s Impala will probably get different mileage than his dad does in that car.  And a 80 year old who is driving the same model Impala will probably achieve still a different mileage compared to [...]
2011 officially marks the 100th year for Chevrolet. 100 years is quite a bit of time for any business to stay up and running. But boy, is it running smooth. Through the years Chevrolet has become a leader in the automotive industry and only shows signs of growing stronger. Lets take a look back to see how it all started. GM was started by automotive marketer William C. Durant in 1908. Through the years Durant took notice of the famous racer, Louis Chevrolet, as he set the land-speed record in 1905 for reaching 111 MPH in a special open race car. Durant hired Chevrolet to do big races and promotional drives for his company. Being cast out from the company he founded, Durant left GM in 1910 and got together with Mr. Chevrolet and some of [...]
Troy and April Hutson drove a long way this past week to come and buy their new truck from Runde Chevrolet.  In the time between signing paperwork and starting out for home, they were benevolent enough to give us a little extra time to ask them some questions about their lives and about their recent experience at Runde’s. What kind of vehicle did you buy?  We bought a new 2011 Silverado 2500 HD. You’re from Sandwich, IL – how far is that from Runde’s?   It’s about 180 miles and it took us almost three hours to get here. Have you always lived in that area? Troy:  I have.  I was born in Sandwich and pretty much lived there my whole life. April: I wasn’t born in Sandwich, but I’ve lived in that area most of my life.      What is Sandwich or that area of Illinois famous for or best know for? The [...]
The king of late-night talk show hosts is adding yet another vehicle to his QUITE expansive car collection. You guessed it! (or read the title) it’s the Chevrolet Volt. Jay is so impressed by the Volt that he is putting aside his 55 Buick Roadmaster to make the Volt his daily driver. Jay Comments on how he thinks the Volt is part of the future and that the Toyota Prius, while having had a head start (in the fuel economy race) is old technology. Another thing he mentions, which I believe is the biggest benefit of the Volt over the competition is that it uses gasoline when the electric juice runs out. So you picked up a Nissan Leaf, an all-electric car which the EPA just announced will last you a 73 mile range, under normal conditions, until you are out of juice and stop moving. I never quite understood how this would be a [...]
