he new Camaro’s are sweet. From looks to performance it’s apparent that Chevy put a lot of careful thought and consideration into the Camaro to make it as Bad*** as it is today. How do you make something sweet even sweeter? Pour more sugar on it, baby. Chevy is grabbing the sugar bags and pouring on the already awesome Camaro to make the new 2012 ZL1 Camaro. Making it’s debut appearance at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show, the ZL1 flexed it’s muscles for all to stare at. And while the numbers aren’t set in stone as of yet, it is expected that the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine in the Camaro will get 550 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque… nice! “official estimates of the car’s capabilities will be released later in 2011, as testing nears completion.” according to Chevrolet.

One of the Runde Mascot Monkeys escaped and turned up at the Orange Bowl in Miami last night just in time to see the Iowa Hawkeye football team finish up their 11-2 season by beating Georgia Tech 24-14.  He flew back today and described the game to all of us who caught the game on television.  Don’t worry Wisconsin and Illini Fans — you’ll have another shot at the Hawks next fall!!!
The 2010 Ford Raptor was build for the true off-road enthusiast.  Check out this video that shows the dynamic capabilities of the truck.  Jamal Hameedi, cheif engineer of the Ford SVT comments on the truck’s ability to jump (the truck was actually built to jump) and he also touches on the trucks Hill Descent Mode. As our society continues to grow, it seems like safety is a number one concern. From safety on the Internet to safety in your vehicle, there are safety upgrades integrated in almost all facets of life. Ford takes no exception to this rule as seen by the announcement of optional safety features available on the upcoming 2010 Ford Focus. Options like the teen-monitoring MyKey system (see video below for more info) and Ford’s automated parking system will be available as options  in the Escape, as well as the Escape Hybrid that go on sale this summer. Ford is aiming to spread these features across the board of their available models. While other vehicles, such as the 2010 Tarus, offer the MyKey system — the Focus is the first to implement the automated parking system.  In addition to these advanced security features, an optional rear-view camera will be available to help further protect you when driving. The Focus has already earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top [...]
With the Detroit auto show going on this week, a lot of new vehicles have been released from their hiding places. Chrysler’s all-new EV (electric) line made quite an impression, as well as GM’s line of electric and fuel-efficient vehicles. The 2010 Chevy Equinox turned a lot of heads as well. The public show will begin tonight with a charity banquet, and the first full day is Saturday. But, if you’re more interested in sunny southwest desert than you are -50* temps in Michigan, you can go to the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona to see Ford & GM auction off their first production models of the 2010 Shelby GT500 and the Camaro SS. All proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.
