Music, Masks & Mystery: Colts Youth Organization to Host Masquerade Ball
A unique night of music and mystery is on the agenda for the Colts Youth Organization’s latest offering.
La Musique & Masquerade Ball, set for 6-9 p.m. on Oct. 19 at Hotel Julien, will raise funds for the Colts and Colt Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps.
The event will feature music by Ken Kilian and his band with light dinner music during cocktail hour beginning at 6 p.m. and then the Ken Kilian Swingtet from 7-9 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
“We believe the Masquerade Ball can become an annual tradition on people’s fall social schedule,” said Jeff MacFarlane, executive director of the Colts Youth Organization.
Runde Auto Group is proud to be the title sponsor of this event!
Evening attire is recommended and masks are required of all guests. A limited number of masks will be available at the Hotel Julien, but it is recommended that you bring your own. All guests must be 21 years of age.
“This is a great opportunity to find a mask that accentuates your personality, or to choose a couple’s set of masks to coordinate with your date,” MacFarlane said.
What is evening attire? Think a formal dark suit and tie or tuxedo, a long dress, a dressy suit, or a formal cocktail-length dress. Colorful dress is encouraged since this is a masquerade ball, after all!
One guest will be named “best dressed” for the evening. To vote, attendees will discreetly pass their ticket stub along to the person they believe to be the best dressed. At the end of the evening, those with a collection of ticket stubs will meet so the winner can be determined.
There will be silent auction items including an Iowa Hawkeye football game package, vacation opportunities, one-of-a-kind instruments, and more.
Tickets are $50 and include one free cocktail and heavy hors d’oeuvres.

Limited tickets will also be available at the door.
The event is presented by the Colts Booster Club, a nonprofit organization that hosts fundraising events to support the Colts Youth Organization. The Colts Booster Club sponsors the Colts Car Wash each June to raise money for the summer tours of both the Colts and Colt Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps.
