Dan Taylor
We received the following letter from Ford Motor Co. recently regarding one of our Ford Service Techs, Dan Taylor, in light of his recent accomplishment. This is a very special certification that involves a great deal of time, study, hands-on-experience, dedication and comittment. By earning this status, Dan has definitely put himself in an elite group of service technicians and we are very proud of him.

Dear Timothy Runde,

It is our pleasure to inform you that, as of April, 2011, Dan Taylor, a Service Technician at your dealership, has made the following achievements in the 2011 Masters Program:

  • Chassis Master

Dan is achieving this status for the first time. Awards for this achievement include the Chassis Plaque, 2011 Ingot and 2011 Master Technician Magnet. Dan is one of 807 technicians in the Chicago Region who holds this status.

  • Engine Master

Dan is achieving this status for the first time. Awards for this achievement include the Engine Plaque and 2011 Ingot. Dan is one of 731 technicians in the Chicago Region who holds this status.

As vehicle technology progresses, it requires increased levels of knowledge and skill for technicians to effectively complete advanced diagnostic and repair operations. The accomplishment we celebrate today demonstrates your support of our joint commitment to highly trained personnel. Most importantly, this commitment fulfills our customers' expectations that their vehicles are repaired by highly-skilled, factory-trained technicians.

We have also emailed your Service Manager and Rick Elliott your Ford Technical Support Operations Manager, informing them of these achievements. We encourage you to arrange a time in which you can present the awards and honor Dan in an appropriate manner. Sincerely, Frederiek Toney President Ford Customer Service Division

Ford Gets "Touched" With Upgrades.

Vehicles , Technology , Ford

Ford is, no doubt, the leader when it comes to implementing technological features in its vehicles. With Ford Sync ever-expanding and the release of MyFord Touch, techheads and gearheads can finally walk hand-in-hand. With its voice recognition technology, you never have to take your eyes or hands off the steering wheel or your eyes off the road. This also means that you will talking to your vehicle... a lot (just be sure to laugh it off it someone stares at you in confusion). The next batch of upgrades include: increased command recognition, alias implementation (can recognize more words for the same command such as "temp up", "hotter", "heat up") and voice navigation will map your command to a GPS via MyFord Touch.

Fiesta Is Near... and Even More to Get Excited For(d)

Technology , Ford

What's not to love about the Fiesta. The fact that it demolishes its competition, such as the Honda FIT and the Toyota Yaris, in nearly every category out there just isn't enough sometimes. So here's more! The Fiesta, in addition to beating the competition in terms of horsepower (competition ranges from 106 to 117 hp vs. the Fiesta at 120 HP) , Safety and features now also take the top prize in terms of fuel economy. While the FIT offers an impressive 28/35 MPG it falls short of the Fit's recently announced and officially official 29/40 MPG. Need I remind you that in addition to all of these class superior specs, the Fiesta starts at $13,320 while the FIT starts at $14,900 - why pay more to get less?

Try one for yourself this summer when they start rolling out of production, you'll see why so many people are excited to get their hands on one.

While I wasn't aware that the Lamborghini is in the sub-compact Class, the Fiesta is apparently better!

Other reasons Fiesta is better than others in its class:

Ford Swap is Back!

Vehicles , Ford

Suffering from unintended acceleration? Afraid of "what's next" in terms of recalls on your vehicle? Now is the perfect time to swap that lemon for some grade-A lemonade with the umbrella and all. With the Ford Swap program you can get some unbelievable deals on top of your trade for a vehicle that is sure to take your breath away. This is how it works: 1. You are finding that your current vehicle is a bit sub-par for your liking. 2. You trade in your vehicle. 3. You get an additional 0% APR PLUS $1,000 Cash Back for trading in your old vehicle.  There are some vehicles excluded from the list of eligible cars that you can get with the incentive, but nowhere on that list is the Mustang (excluding the Shelby Mustang). You could be trading in your current turtle and burning some affordable rubber in your near future! But make sure not to get too comfy in your current ride if you are considering this offer, as the incentive ends at the end of next month.
